Open letter to my tutor
Well Mr.Dodson, whole the world reported that George W. Bush visited Albania and promised a lot about the independence of Kosovo and Albania becoming part of NATO.
Was I impressed. Huh, not at all.
I am tired of words Sean. I know I should have written something, at least something but people already knew what Bush said.
I was devastated. I see it from a completely different angle.
What do you want me to say? That Albanians were happy that Bush visited them and Albanians cheered, clapped, hugged him and some of them dropped down on their knees and kissed his feet? Which it did happened. The same people went back home with high andrenaline rush and empty stomacs as well.
People are hungry Mr.Dodson. People are living through economic catastrophy in Albania and Kosovo. People are used to suffer over here but I don’t believe that anyone should be privileged to suffering.
When a President (whoever he is) comes over and helps with developing the economy, destroying corruption, developing schools and health system, hell, that’s when I will report.
It’s not only about miracles happening over here. We’ve got a very corrupted system. Politicians live like pigs over here (well, everywhere in the world but over here they just do it in open, shamelessly). They have luxurious homes, expensive cars and they get VIP treatments wherever they go….while the rest of the country live with average 80 pounds per month (I haven’t got the sign of the pound in the keyboard – welcome to Kosovo) I have seen some living with 20 pounds per month as well.
They are strong people. Damn it, they are strong. I am so proud of them. I do keep a brave face but to be honest I can’t handle it. I wait until everybody goes to sleep and then I cry until early hours of the morning. It might sound pathetic but I can’t handle it sometimes. I constantly feel a knot on my throat and I can not eat and sometimes neither speak.
They are strong but people are dropping dead, dead like guinea pigs who have gone through a an experiment which went horribly wrong Mr.Dodson. If that happened in Britain, you would expect massive protests from people who stand up for animal rights.
These are people. Who is standing up for them?
They deserve a better life. They have got one life to live like we all do.
So, when someone puts their words in practice, thats when I think it’s worth reporting. Other than that, I do not see a reason.
